the magazine that they are studying in the congregation this month has an article at the back about how pornography in a marriage could damage the relationship.. there's one piece of advice that sounds rather scary, the wt suggests that the couple should "consider asking an elder with whom you are both comfortable to sit in and guide your discussions for a time.".

how many of you would want an elder present in your home while you and your partner discussed your personal sexual cravings and the type of porn videos being watched?.

Therapy with an EXJW therapist that’s working for me

for years after leaving i was afraid of going to therapy or seeking help with a counselor to unpack my jehovah’s witness upbringing and shunning.

i think one of the things i like the most about therapy with an exjw therapist is that i dont have to explain every detail.

she knows my issues and it saves time and $$ in sessions.

i see this phrase a lot: "the indication of a cult is what happens when you leave.

" i'm not sure where that originated, but it is a faulty categorization.

"cult" is almost always used in a derogatory way.

Help wanted finding images

i am working on a project that requires proofs that the wts did say it and jws believe and follow it.. i have found some but google is giving me a hard time with some things.. as i go i will post requests for various images.

they all must have a reference or at least post where i can find the reference and i will add it to the image.. both older and newer beliefs are welcome, especially flip-flops.. if you have something similar to what is already posted then more references the better.

i know there are images of the structure of the wts.

More likely it got them into trouble or cost them money, Steven Unthank of saysorry.org has had a bit to say about this one.

Dear Sue, welcolme to the forum, first and foremost you do not have to make any hasty decisions, now is the time to take a deep breath and a bit of a stock take of your position in life.

There is a lot of good advice to be had in this thread and forum in general, I recommend that you dig deep.

All of us here bare similar emotional scare tissue and many have been through similar issues, there is plenty of first hand experience here.

I would strongly recommend that you have a good look at the JWfacts web site before you invest heavily in getting back into a high control group where you will likely be seen as "damaged goods" by many.

Being a convert (like me) you have a huge advantage over many in that it will be relatively easy for you to make new friends with normal people, Think of this event as a new opportunity in life.
